National Science Day Celebration
Karnataka State Council for Science and
Technology (KSCST), Department of Science and Technology, Government of
Karnataka and Department of Science and Technology, Government of India,
New Delhi are jointly organizing National Science Day 2013 Celebrations on
28th February 2013 at J. N. Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science,
Bangalore.
We would like to bring to your kind
information that "GENETICALLY MODIFIED CROPS AND FOOD SECURITY" is
the theme of this year National Science Day. In this respect, KSCST is
conducting various competitions namely, Poster competition, On-the-Spot painting competitions and Science Essay Competitions on the theme for the
students of Higher Primary and High Schools in Bangalore.
The painting competition is scheduled to be
conducted on Sunday, the 10th February 2013 from 10.030 AM to 12.30 Noon
at the Indian Institute of Science (Behind Tata Statue, IISc Main
Building).
The National Science Day function will be
held on 28th February 2013 at at J. N. Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of
Science, Bangalore.
KSCST has organized popular lectures by
eminent scientists from premier institution on related topics on the theme "GENETICALLY
MODIFIED CROPS AND FOOD SECURITY". It
will be followed by prize distribution to students, for various
competitions held during February 2013 - On-the-spot painting competition,
Essay and Poster Competition. We are expecting about 800 students from
various Higher Primary and High schools across Bangalore to participate in
this programme. The winning Paintings and posters will be exhibited at J.
N. Tata Auditorium.

National Science Day - 2013 celebrations
Karnataka State Council for Science and
Technology (KSCST) is celebrating National Science Day 2013 on 28th
February 2013 at J. N. Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science,
Bangalore. The theme of this year's National Science Day is "GENETICALLY
MODIFIED CROPS AND FOOD SECURITY".
On this occasion, the Council had organized
various events such as On-the-spot Painting Competition, Essay and Poster
Competition for Higher Primary and High School Students of Bangalore City.
The winners of theses competition will be awarded during above mentioned
function. We are expecting about 800 students from various High Schools
across Bangalore.
The function will be inaugurated by Prof. M.
Mahadevappa, Former Vice Chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences,
Dharwad. The president of the function will be Prof. M. S. Mohan Kumar,
Secretary, KSCST. During the technical session there will be three
lectures on the above theme delivered by Prof. M. Mahadevappa, Former Vice
Chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, Dr. M. S. Rao,
Scientist, Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bangalore and Prof.
P. H. Ramanjani Gowda, Dept of Biotechnology, UAS, GKVK, Bangalore.
During the valedictory function the Chief
Guest will be Shri I. S. N. Prasad, IAS, Principal Secretary to
Government, Dept. of IT, BT and Science & Technology, Government of
Karnataka. The president of the function will be Dr. P. Balaram, Director,
Indian Institute of Science and Chairman, Executive Committee, KSCST. Also
the Padma Awardees such as Prof. R. Narasimha (Padma Vibhusahan), Dr. B.
N. Suresh (Padma Bhushan), Prof. Ajay K. Sood (Padma Shri) and Prof. K.
VijayRaghavan (Padma Shri) will be honored.
The programme was catalyzed and supported by
Rashtriya Vigayn Evam Prodyogigki Sanchar Parishad, Department of Science
and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi and Department of Science
and Technology, Government of Karnataka.

ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಇವರ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆ 2013 ಯನ್ನು 28ನೇ ಫೆಬ್ರುವರಿ 2013 ರಂದು
ಜೆ.ಎನ್. ಟಾಟಾ ಆಡಿಟೋರಿಯಂನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಾಲಿನ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ
ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯ ಶೀರ್ಷಿಕೆ "ತಳಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದ ಬೆಳೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಆಹಾರ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ".
ಈ ಸಂಬಂಧ, ಮಂಡಳಿಯು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲಾ
ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲೇ ಚಿತ್ರ ಬರೆಯುವ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆ, ಪ್ರಬಂಧ ಸ್ಥರ್ದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪೋಸ್ಟರ್
ರಚನೆ ಸ್ಫರ್ದೆಯನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳ ವಿಜೇತರನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ
ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕರಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 800 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ವಿವಿಧ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಗಳಿಂದ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೊ. ಮಹದೇವಪ್ಪ, ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಉಪಕುಲಪತಿಗಳು,
ಕೃಷಿ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ಧಾರವಾಡ ಇವರು ನಡೆಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೊ.
ಎಮ್.ಎಸ್. ಮೋಹನ್ ಕುಮಾರ್, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ, ಕೆ.ಎಸ್.ಸಿ.ಎಸ್.ಟಿ ಇವರು ವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ನಂತರ 3 ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಗಳನ್ನು ಖ್ಯಾತ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳಿಂದ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಮೊದಲ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೊ. ಮಹದೇವಪ್ಪ, ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಉಪಕುಲಪತಿಗಳು, ಕೃಷಿ ಮಹಾ
ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ಧಾರವಾಡ, ಎರಡನೇ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಡಾ. ಎಮ್.ಎಸ್. ರಾವ್, ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿ,
ಭಾರತೀಯ ತೋಟಗಾರಿಕಾ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಮೂರನೇ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೊ.
ಪಿ.ಹೆಚ್. ರಾಮಾಂಜನಿ ಗೌಡ, ಬಯೋ ಟೆಕ್ನಾಲಜಿ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಕೃಷಿ ಮಹಾವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ,
ಜಿ.ಕೆ.ವಿ.ಕೆ. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಇವರು ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಸಮಾರೋಪ ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಐ.ಎಸ್.ಎನ್.

ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಇಲಾಖೆ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಇವರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ
ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೊ. ಪಿ. ಬಲರಾಂ, ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು, ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್ ಆಫ್ ಸೈನ್ಸ್
ಮತ್ತು ಛೇರ್ಮೆನ್, ಕಾರ್ಯಕಾರಿ ಸಮಿತಿ, ಕೆ.ಎಸ್.ಸಿ.ಎಸ್.ಟಿ, ಇವರು ವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ
ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ವಿಜೇತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪುರಸ್ಕರಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.
2013ರಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕರಿಸಲಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಪದ್ಮ
ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿರುವ ಪ್ರೊ. ರೊದ್ದಂ ನರಸಿಂಹ, ಡಾ. ಬಿ.ಎನ್. ಸುರೇಶ,
ಪ್ರೊ. ಅಜೇಯ ಸೂದ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರೊ. ಕೆ. ವಿಜಯ ರಾಘವನ್ ರವರನ್ನು ಕೆ.ಎಸ್.ಸಿ.ಎಸ್.ಟಿ. ಮತ್ತು
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಹಾಗೂ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಇಲಾಖೆಯು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆ
