STUDENT PROJECTS PROGRAMME - BIOFUEL PROJECTS

(SPP - 42nd SERIES : 2018 - 2019)

 

 

STREAM B : PROJECT PROPOSAL FOR INNOVATIVE PROJECTS

 

KSCST invites project proposals from the final year engineering students for sponsorship, under the 42nd series of Student Project Programme - Biofuel Projects under Stream B :

  • The objective of the stream B is to invite Innovative project proposal from the students in the field of Biofuels / Bioenergy. The project idea should be new and unique and should fall within the list of themes mentioned in Stream B.

  • The project should not be duplication of the previous efforts made in the SPP (Biofuel projects). Students should come out with their own ideas for developing new technologies or process to aid the development of Biofuels.

  • The objectives and methodologies (including design and fabrication work) should be clearly mentioned in the proposal along with the benefit and advantages of the technology.

  • Innovative projects should not be survey based projects. However identification of new species and their characterization is acceptable.

  • Development of new strains for efficient conversion of cellulose based biomass to Bio-ethanol.

  • Value addition to by-products in case of biodiesel production to should lead to a versatile product which can be commercialised.

  • The product / process thus developed should be patentable and also ready for industrial application. If required the scope of the work can be extended to next series of SPP.

  • Biogas production

  • Photobiotic reactors and fermentors

  • Algae for Biofuel

  • Applications of Nanotechnology

  • By-products applications

  • Seed decorticators / depulpers

  • Process controllers

 

 

Topics for M.Sc., Students

  • Biofuel plantation and nursery

  • Tissue culture for quality planting material

  • Bioethanol production

  • Morphological study on biofuel species

  • By-products applications

  • Grafting for high yielding varieties using mother tree

  • Study and prevention of plant diseases in Pongamia pinnata and Neem trees

Guidelines and Instructions for filling up the project proposal

 

After sending the filled project proposal to KSCST, it is mandatory to fill the google form about the project information by Project Team leader and submit without fail. (Note : Photocopy of the filled project proposal to be kept ready for filling the Google form)
