1. Fostering Applied Research:

Initiate, support, and coordinate applied research programs in
universities and other institutions, focusing on areas
identified as particularly suitable for applying Science and
Technology.

2. Bridging the Gap through co-ordination:

Promote effective coordination and develop communication
channels between centers of scientific and technological
research, government agencies, farms, and industries.

Facilitate the initiation, promotion, and effective deployment
of promising Research and Development work in agriculture,
government, and other sectors.

3. Identifying Development Needs:

Identify areas where Science and Technology can be applied to
address the development needs, objectives, and goals of
Karnataka, particularly focusing on overcoming backwardness,
rural unemployment, and poverty.

4. Policy and Strategy Formulation:

Advise the government on the formulation of policies and
measures, including technical, administrative, and legal
mechanisms, to promote the application of Science and Technology
to identified needs, objectives, and goals.

Prioritize areas like health, education, and manpower
utilization, with a special emphasis on developing human skills
in rural areas and slums.

Promote the scientific management of the State's natural
resources.
