CALL FOR PROPOSALS UNDER SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION (STI) INTERVENTIONS IN THE STATE

KSCST invites project proposals on location-specific challenges of Karnataka state providing S&T intervention through technology development and demonstration. The project proposals shall address the S&T needs of Karnataka and Investigators shall take adequate care in mapping the S&T needs of the state/district before concretizing the proposal.

The projects will be evaluated by an expert group. The approved projects will be funded by the Project Related Grant (PRG) released to KSCST by the Science for Equity Empowerment and Development (SEED) Division under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Project proposals shall be submitted only by full-time faculty from universities (public / deemed / private / open / institutions) in the state, affiliated to the statutory body recognized by the Government of Karnataka. The upper limit of the budget for each proposal shall be restricted to Rs. 5 lakhs.

Preference will be given to project proposals envisaging clear-cut deliverables in terms of developing products / services for socio-economic development of the state. The outcome of the proposal shall focus on developing innovative technologies, products, or services.

The project proposals are accepted in the form of softcopy through Google Form and email (fpp@kscst.org.in) and both modes are mandatory. Please do not send the hard copies of the proposals.

Faculty Project Programme

KSCST started a new initiative titled "Faculty Project Program (FPP)" to support product / services development during November 2021. Under this initiative, KSCST had invited project proposals from faculty / project guides of those projects awarded as best project of the year / projects selected by committee for further development / prototype under the 40th Series to 44th Series of Student Project Programme (SPP).

FPP initiative is to strengthen the technological innovations having potential to diffuse widely through commercial and/or non-commercial channels, generating material or non-material incentives for them and others involved in the value chain.

Preference were given to project proposals envisaging clear-cut deliverables in terms of developing products / services for socio-economic development.

The project proposals received were reviewed by experts and the committee has recommended to support the projects during May 2022. The details of the project proposals supported is available in the link below.
